... I'll say below the other picks, I'll be upfront about this. I have somewhat shot myself in the foot by killing Chrono Trigger and murder Suicide Chrono Trigger and Earthbound which is depressing but the problem with Final Fantasy 4 as I see it and my understanding of it is that it is introducing and beginning to master a bit more narrative sophistication which obviously is then greatly improved as the series goes on which is why everyone loves Final Fantasy 6 in particular.

... Listen, I'm taking Final Fantasy 4 aka Final Fantasy 2 as it was released in the States. I actually haven't played this so I can't give it a sort of full bodied endorsement other than it too appears on many lists of best RPGs. I'll say below the other picks, I'll be upfront about this. In my head it's a sort of rough first draft but better than the quite bare bones very early Final Fantasies. So take pity on poor Castle, take pity on me and vote for Final Fantasy 4. ...
